Last week, our team participated in ECFI Youth Fest 2025, organized by the European Community Foundation Initiative. The event brought together 55 participants from across Europe in Naples and was hosted by Fondazione di Comunità San Gennaro in collaboration with Assifero.
💡 Over three days, young people and community foundation representatives explored what modern youth leadership means and how to foster youth engagement in communities effectively. Participants discussed developing leadership skills in uncertain conditions, intergenerational collaboration, and genuinely involving young people in decision-making.
The event also provided us with the opportunity to learn about youth initiatives from various European countries from mobile mental health centers in Germany to sports projects in Naples that offer safe spaces for teenagers to grow and connect.
Additionally, we joined the annual conference of Italian community foundations, where Lidia Savenko shared the experience of the Boyarka Community Foundation during the war. The conference addressed the development of open community spaces, climate philanthropy, and the role of artificial intelligence in organizational work. Italian community foundations are also actively implementing the Community Land Trust model community land funds that provide affordable and sustainable housing, serving as an inspiring example of social innovation in housing policy.
