The Resource Hub

“Resource Hub” is a program of the National Network of Local Philanthropy Development , aimed at creating favorable conditions for supporting, developing, and strengthening the capacity of Community Foundations of Ukraine by providing access to resources, knowledge, experience exchange, and grant opportunities.

Program participants – Community Foundations that are members of the National Network of Local Philanthropy Development and adhere to the seven principles of community foundation operations.

Community Foundations that join the program gain the opportunity to:

  • Enhance their institutional capacity,
  • Attract more resources for local community development,
  • Exchange experiences with colleagues from Ukraine and other countries,
  • Access educational and grant opportunities.

The criteria for community foundations are divided into mandatory and acquired categories.

Program Goals

  1. Strengthening the institutional development of Community Foundations in Ukraine
  2. Providing access to educational resources, tools, and expert support.
  3. Creating a platform for experience exchange and the implementation of best practices.

Key Program Objectives

  1. Organizing annual conferences and reflection events for Community Foundations.
  2. Providing access to a self-development grant competition for Community Foundations.
  3. Conducting specialized training sessions upon request from Community Foundations.
  4. Granting access to an online hub with valuable resources, including:
  • Methodological materials,
  • Books,
  • Conference and lecture recordings,
  • Document templates,
  • Presentation materials.
  1. Sending out informational newsletters with opportunities for Community Foundations.
  2. Facilitating exchange programs between Community Foundations in Ukraine and abroad.
  3. Providing individual consultations with the team of NNLPD.

Program Results (2023-2024)

  • Expanded peer-learning network based on the “peer-to-peer” principle.
  • Strengthened grant program – 21 grants awarded in 2024.
  • Updated participation criteria and introduced membership fees.
  • Community Foundations engaged in international research (GFCF and research on the Ukrainian diaspora in Germany).
  • Organized international exchanges:

Participation in a conference in Canada.

Peer-learning program in France. 

Zhytomyr Community Fund’s experience exchange program in the UK.

  • Developed a handbook on best practices for Community Foundations.
  • Annual conferences and training sessions conducted.
  • Participants rated the program 4.7 out of 5 based on 2024 results.

  • The annual conference featured representatives from the European Community Foundation Initiative (ECFI) and the Association of German Community Foundations, enhancing partnerships, knowledge exchange, and the adoption of best international practices in the work of Ukrainian Community Foundations.
