Community choirs are uniting Ukraine!

Kyiv region, Lviv region, Donetsk region, Mykolaiv region, Khmelnytskyi region, Kherson – On Valentine’s Day, 10 communities from different regions sang a single song as part of the nationwide flash mob “Community Choirs Unite Ukraine.”

People of different ages, professions, interests, and completely unfamiliar with each other started gathering at the “Fabrika” shopping and entertainment center in Kherson long before the event began.

The initiator and coordinator of the singing project was the Kherson Community Foundation “Zakhyst.”

The chairperson, Larysa Polska, shared that Kherson became the first city in Ukraine to sing in the Community Choir format. This idea was so well received by other regions that they decided to organize a large-scale nationwide flash mob. However, the people of Kherson united not only for singing but also for a charitable cause. During the event, attendees could purchase souvenirs with project branding for a symbolic price of 10 hryvnias. All proceeds will go towards creating an Open Space area at the Kherson specialized boarding school for children with hearing impairments.

Bright, emotional, and confident. In just an hour, the diverse people of Kherson became a united team and proved that “Music unites.”
