Daria Rybalkchenko: “We are building a system based on trust, transparency, and a deep understanding of the local context”
Daria Rybalkchenko, Director of NNLPD, took part in the press conference “German Support for Ukrainian Communities: Launch of Applications for Humanitarian Project Funding” and joined the grant committee of the Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe project under the Localization Program in Ukraine.
This program is part of the global Humanitarian Localization Fund (HLF) initiative, which aims to transform the humanitarian system by placing local organizations at the center of humanitarian response. The program is coordinated by Help and funded by the German Federal Foreign Office.
During the event, Daria shared the experience of establishing the Ukrainian CSO Fund, which has already supported seven organizations with over UAH 15 million in funding. She also emphasized the importance of:
leveraging local expertise when designing grant application processes;
adhering to principles of transparency, inclusiveness, and feedback mechanisms;
investing in organizational development as a core part of grant programs.
“To unlock the full potential of localization, it’s crucial to continue integrating the recommendations of Ukrainian organizations — those who already deliver tangible results,” Daria stressed.
