In April 2025, the village of Rudnytske in the Baryshivska community witnessed a long-awaited event — the reopening of the local medical clinic after major renovations.
This is a highly significant milestone for the entire community. Since the spring of 2022, after the Russian occupation of the area, the village had been left without access to basic medical care. The local feldsher-midwife station was partially destroyed and shut down, leaving the most vulnerable residents — elderly people, children, and those with chronic illnesses — without essential healthcare services.
Today, life has returned to these renewed walls — made possible by the joint efforts of the community, charitable organizations, partner institutions, and local businesses.
The project was implemented by the Berezan Community Foundation in partnership with the Baryshivska communityand with support from the “People for People” program, implemented by the civil society organization Ednannia, using funds raised from private individuals and organizations.
A vital part of the funding came from the local budget of the Baryshivska Settlement Council, as well as contributions from the MHP-Gromadi Charitable Foundation and STOV “Lukyanivske”, long-time supporters of social projects in the region.
Additionally, with the support of a grant from the National Network for Local Philanthropy Development, the “Med Aid” project was implemented. Through this initiative, the clinic was equipped with new furniture, medical equipment (an electrocardiograph, a blood pressure monitor with stethoscope, and an otoscope/ophthalmoscope), and multifunctional office technology.
The clinic’s interior was fully renovated: new windows and doors were installed, outdated wiring replaced, finishing works completed, and modern medical offices arranged. A dedicated space was also provided for the local elder and a social worker to serve the needs of the community.
This project is not only about infrastructure. It is about restoring dignity, and about proving that even after the most difficult trials, a community can rebuild — especially when it is supported by strong and reliable partners.
