“Community Foundation School” Helps Transform Society
A successful startup requires resources, a team, innovative ideas, and in-depth market analysis. Similarly, communities need support to implement large-scale changes. This is precisely why community foundations exist—organizations dedicated to the sustainable development of local initiatives. To support their creation and growth, the Community Foundation School was established.
What is the Community Foundation School?
The Community Foundation School is a year-long program by the National Network for the Development of Local Philanthropy, aimed at fostering the creation and development of community foundations in Ukraine. Its participants include organizations and activists from various regions, selected through a competitive process.
This summer, we launched the program with 25 participants, among whom 13 received mentorship support and actively began developing their organizations. By the end of the training, they aim to establish fully functioning community foundations. Currently, they are conducting community needs assessments, organizing grant competitions for local initiatives, and have already raised 105,000 UAH from local sources to support civic projects.
